A Village Visit

Blacksmith at work in the VillageHistoric Cold Spring Village in Cape May is an Early-American open-air living history museum! Step back in time to the 1800s while visiting an award-winning 30 acre-site.  Experience 26 restored historic buildings with historical guides in period clothing who demonstrate the trades, crafts and lifestyles of the the 19th century including blacksmithing, woodworking, basketweaving and more.  Visit the Ice Cream Parlor, Bakery and Old Grange Restaurant; browse the Country Store and its unique line of heritage goods, specialty foods, jewelry and gift ideas. Weekday family activities and weekend special events including free horse and wagon rides and hands-on kids’ crafts.

During the off-season, the Village Welcome Center is open weekdays from 10am-4pm. Enjoy the exhibits about Cape May County history and watch a video presentation about the Village. Take a stroll throughout the Village grounds and enjoy the scenery. An audio walking tour is available for download on your smart phone, or you can visit the Administration Offices and borrow an Ipod for your visit.
