Quilt coloring page

Quilts are coverlets or blankets made by stitching together three layers of fabric. The first layer consists of a design containing different pieces of material sewn together using various colors and patterns, the second layer is comprised of a batting material – soft cotton, wool or a combination of both cotton and wool called linsey-woolsey. The third layer is a large piece of fabric and often old sheets or thin blankets are used. Families would spend time together and sew these quilts from scraps of old fabrics in their homes. Patterns would be created in response to different important events, such as the Civil War. Quilts played an important role in American homes up until the 19th century when machine-made blankets became available.
Here are three patterns that you can color to make your own paper quilt. Choose a different color for each part of the design and then fill in that same color on the identical section throughout the pattern.
